This is a fabulous gown and matching jacket worn by Darlene Love for a Christmas show on Broadway.  The gown is just full of glamour!

 

Made of a red satin material the gown has spaghetti straps with a fishtail styled bottom in the back.  Along the top of the gown is a sewn on braided material with red and clear crystals.  A magnificent design made of thousands of small dark red beads adorn the top half of the gown.  The gown has matching colored fringe going around the bottom that reaches the length of the gown, sewn on with the same braided material that's at the top of the gown.

 

A matching Bolero styled jacket compliments the gown.  Long sleeved with the braided material and clear and red crystals sewn on for the trim at the collar and sleeve ends.

 

Purchased at the September 23 2007 Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS Fundraiser from the crew  of "Hairspray."  Miss Love is currently in the Broadway production of "Hairspray" in the role of "MotorMouth Maybelle" and this outfit was donated by her.
